Our wonderful boys

The boys are getting so big now they will be 4 months old next week this photo was taken at 3 months. they are such a blessing to our lives both so loving and full of hugs.. we are now getting smiles and some giggles and babbles. l

sorry for the delay in updates , we are now the proud parents of twin boys. life has been busy busy busy.

they will be two weeks old tomorrow and are gaining weight.

we hope to return home within the next few weeks xx

Love this twin diaper/changing bag

I have had my eye on this pink lining twin diaper bag for a few months now :)

I already have a diaper bag but as a bit of a handbag hoarder I have transferred my addiction now to a different type of bag.

I saw it on offer tonight and decided to order it so I look forward to it arriving, and I look forward to our next scan on 7th march.

Almost 35 weeks, waiting on babies to arrive.

Our wonderful surrogate was in hospital again this week for antibiotic infusions I hope she is feeling better and her and the babies are resting up now. I sent her some yellow roses from ferns & petals and got a pic, she looks so relaxed and At ease im in total awe of this woman.

Our bags are packed and arrangements are made for the animals and my phone never leaves my sight, we are so ready for babies, should it be this week or four weeks time is a mystery but whenever they arrive mummy and daddy will be on a plane and out there as soon as physically  possible :-) 

32 week update

The above pic on the right contains what I think is a part of the face, i think i can see the roundness of the skull with a eye socket and a nose, when the scan landed i noticed it was the usual circles for top of head and AC measurements but when i zoomed in on this one I though I had spied a wee face.

The report is excellent all well with surrogate and babies, twin 1 weighs 4lb twin 2 4&1/2 lb. So happy to see that, we are now 32 weeks 3 days, room is ready, bags are packed and after 18 years of longing im definately ready to be a Mummy. In Ireland it is mothers day on 30th march this year, will I be a mother by then all bets are on :-) 

Tough week but looking forward to next scan soon

This last week has been tough for a few reasons,

our dear surrogate was admitted to hospital for a few days due to an infection, it was the first time during this whole journey that I felt really helpless,  it helped knowing that she was in the best possible place under the care of Dr Shivani and SCI. we were relieved to hear that all was well with both our surrogate and the babies yesterday. we are 32 weeks now and the recent scare has made sure that our suitcases are packed.

we are waiting on a scan on friday so hoping all is ok and the babies are growing big and strong. we are getting the room ready ready now and its starting to look baby friendly :)

the other upsetting thing is the Irish government are in the process of passing a law banning commercial surrogacy abroad , criminalising it in fact,myself and other IPs are contacting the officials in charge of this but its very upsetting dealing with government officials who think they are rightand refuse to listen to those of us who are on this journey.but we are not giving up and will continue to fight this.

Preparing for babies.

PACKING & CLEANING

We decided after 30 weeks we need to make a start on cleaning out the cubbords and getting the suitcases filled. I knitted two wee hats recently and packed them, i havent done any larger projects as i sit on the internet too much in the evenings.

We decided to pack less nappies and wipes than first decided, I figured there will be a store in M block or somewhere that I can get those so only packed enough for one week the rest is little onsies and vests and 12tommee tippee bottles going to buy formula in Delhi and bring some home. And cocoons and wraps also packed with the two cute outfits pictured above my sister bought hhhmmmmm guess what genders she is hoping for :-) .  Next suitcase will be medicines and things like thermometer and towels and some clothes for us. She also got me this georgous diaper bag to pack for Delhi I love it.

It still feels so surreal that we are preparing for babies, but we are getting excited and I ended up booking an apartment for march from 37 weeks so we will see if babies decide to wait until then to meet us or keep us waiting longer :-)

Anyway no more updates this end , week 32 scan due next friday , im looking forward to hearing what weights they are now.
