What a beautiful belly

I was waiting anxiously on a recent update and was delighted to also receive a beautiful belly pic, unfortunately the babies wouldnt co operate to allow for a 3D scan so I got some head sizes and the two pics above which i dont know what they are showing.

It seems that one baby is now bigger than the other, i wonder is that a indication of boy/girl, we are now thinking about booking our apartment for baby pick up , we are thinking tulip apartments perhaps, but we just dont know when to book dates, im sure all IPs have this issue.

Going to start getting cases organised and the house tidied up for the new arrivals, its getting real :-)

Book

I got this book and filed it away along with other story books I plan to read to our children. I want to recommend this as a lovely simplistic child's book to get the general concept of how surrogacy works across to young children.

Monitors

I recently did a infant first aid course and I bought two snuza hero monitors these seem like a great invention , it clips onto the diaper and if baby stops breathing it buzzes to remind them and if no reaction it alarms the parents so baby can be checked on. I think these will be great to reassure us when we are out for baby collection. Then I bought two tommee tipper monitor mats for under the mattresses when we are home the pad notices when there is no breathing or movement and sets off the alarm.

I wrote the Christmas cards this week and am so pleased that its the last year we will be addressing them from just us as a couple and from next year on we will be a family.

24 week scan

i am delighted to say that our babies are doing well they are measuring 24+4 and weigh between 680 - 710 gramms. the ecocardiac focus on twin 2 now seems to have gone so all in all a great result

23 weeks

Time is going so slowly waiting for the monthly scans but the weeks do seem to be racing in. im hoping to get our next update soon. im hoping our babies are growing big and strong and our wonderful surrogate is keeping well.

i almost have everything bought now for the babies to get us started, im reading the gina ford book, a contented house with twins and also the book called what to expect the first year. we also did a infant first aid course a few weeks ago. 

im guilty off buying a few too many baby blankets and outfits but hey we have been waiting18 long years for these babies.

we are very scared off twins arriving early, it has kept us from announcing our news to everyone yet , im staying positive and think that it will be ok and all will run smoothly but as an infertile couple that awful fear that we could lose it all never is far from our thoughts.

all going well we will be 26 weeks christmas day, what a christmas this will be to picture in our heads the family we are soon to become.

a suprise update with belly pics

well I got a suprise email today with georgous belly pics of our wonderful surrogate. I cant believe the emotions that hit me, I was amazed to think our babies are snuggled up nice and cozy in there,

we are now 21 weeks and in the email the doctor said that all is well with our surrogate and the babies, such a relief. im trying to stay off the internet as much as possible as I keep seeing stories of twins coming too early and I get so scared as we want these babies so so much and this means everything to us.

I have bought loads of cute little outfits now and other baby stuff, we havent told many people yet but its getting harder to keep it quiet as im so excited we did a infant first aid course last week and im buying snuza monitors that clip onto babies daiper and alarms if they stop breathing , it will be reassurance for us and they are small for travel.

not long until christmas and we are hopefully having our last quiet one and next year this house will be full of noise and joy.

sci journey so far

When we realised surrogacy  was the only way we could become parents twe embraced it, and i researched and researched it, luckily I knew another Irish couple who had the most georgous daughter through sci. When I got in touch with sci they were so quick getting back to me and answered all my questionsq.

we got caught up in the whole visa situation and our trip to india was cancelled in april and changed to may until we changed our tourist visas to medical visas. when we travelled out we stayed at svelte as we heard so many good reviews about it, we plan on going back there for baby pickup as well, there are many other IPs there from all clinics and its so encouraging to see the new parents with their babies.

we were very impressed with Dr Shivani and SCI staff and premises, as we walked round i looked at the pregant surrogates in the waiting rooms and wondered would we ever be lucky enough to have a surrogate in these same rooms carrying our baby.

when we came home we were devestated to find out it was a negative result. I felt so broken and devestated, but after it sunk in I just wanted to try agamin as soon as possible.

a few months later we were over the moon to receive a BFP with a beta of 278. we got the news there was two sacs then two heartbeats and we practicaly held our breaths until week 12., then I went shopping : but still we remain very cautiou but as each week goes in we feel closer to our dream.

This was our ten week scan , this is the scan that made the babies real to me, seeing the little arms and legs and a baby shape after just blob like shapes at week 8 meant the world to me :-)
